The number of Bulgarian companies in search of foreign markets during exhibitions is gradually increasing
"Our participation in the Heimtextil exhibition in Frankfurt is of key importance to our company and it sets the trend and the developments of our external markets throughout the year. There we align our course with leading brands in the industry and we draw inspiration from the demonstrated trends in terms of color and design, "explains Dilyana Tsankova, Head of Export Department in" Artek-92 ".
The Bulgarian manufacturer is present on this market for 24 years and is the largest Bulgarian importer of fabrics for bed linen. Since 15 years he keeps attending the most important event for all players in the sector of interior and home textiles, being a participant for in the last four years. According to Mrs. Tsankova the company works with the largest and most renowned European design studios thanks to its participation at Heimtextil.
"The fair is an opportunity for us to introduce new products to the European market ,to meet our current customers ,to plan the forthcoming business year and find new partners," said Mrs.Tsankova.
The industry that focuses in organizing exhibitions is in a state of evolution, because it develops the highly specialized language and themes of the individual sectors, which has a direct effect on the branding of the companies. Besides within Bulgaria, the companies that are recognized for their quality of work, have drawn their attention towards the fairs in Europe and Asia some considerable time ago.
One of the biggest event organizers - Messe Frankfurt, has welcome more than 70 Bulgarian companies at its events in 2016, as for the first half of this year nearly 50 companies have already applied for participation. "Currently the companies from our country occupy the 39th place in terms of participation, but we expect this year to go up in the rankings," says Mr. Ivaylo Ivanov, Manager of Inter Expo Center, which is representative of Messe Frankfurt in Bulgaria.
The Bulgarian participation
Messe Frankfurt organizes more than 100 trade fairs, 63 of which take place outside Germany. Those in the field of consumer goods, automotive industry, commercial and interior textile register the biggest Bulgarian presence and attendance. In Frankfurt only there are some 3,000 persons who visited the exhibitions in these sectors during 2016.
"It is interesting to note that there are companies that follow certain exhibitions around the world, participating in several of their editions. Automechanika is just another example, which takes place not only in Frankfurt, but also in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul and in more than 12 countries, "comments Mr.Ivanov.
According to him there are good reviews on behalf of Bulgarian producers of violins and accessories for musical instruments that have counterparts in Europe and Asia , as a result of their regular participation in the largest forum for the musical industry - MusikMesse in Frankfurt, Moscow, Shanghai and others.
Such is the example of the company "Ivan Peykov and son" from Plovdiv, who more than 25 years ago have attended the Frankfurt edition of the fair in order to look for suitable clients and partners to represent them on the global market. "After a tentative start and having no substantial financial opportunities, however we have been able to establish later ourselves as a recognized brand and in the course of already 10 years we participate along with " Edreva Violins "and
"Cremona Bulgaria, " says Plamen Peykov, manager of the company.
He said the company had managed to meet the largest retailers in the industry right at the Frankfurt fair ,as for the last two years they exhibit their products in Shanghai,as well. "Unfortunately the European market is shrinking, leading companies and customers to seek new promising destinations like Shanghai and Tokyo, because the Asian market is vast, and the retailers do not compromise on quality. We are one of the few Bulgarian producers of accessories, but more and more Asian companies choose our products, "said Mr.Peykov.
The manager of Inter Expo Center explains that over the past 10 years, many companies have focused their investments in the European Union market, which can be potentially risky. "After the crisis, many companies that work with Asia or North America, managed easily to overcome their financial problems. This was also demonstrated by Bulgarian entrepreneurs who penetrated the world markets through the exhibitions of Messe Frankfurt ", says very clearly Mr. Ivaylo Ivanov. Finally, the ultimate goal of this business is that the companies should indentify new markets and thus diversify risks.
